2015 Fall Meeting

ICCHE’s fall meeting was held on September 24-25, 2015 in partnership with the Illinois Council on Continuing Education & Training (ICCET). The fall conference was hosted by the Business and Training Education Center at Parkland Community College. A group of 40+ ICCHE and ICCET members participated in the event.

Walter Pearson

“Building College Completion Among Adult Students: Expanding Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)” was the opening topic of the Thursday morning keynote session, offered by Walter Pearson of Loyola University Chicago. It was followed by an awards lunch and a session on effectively using “Humor in the Classroom” led by Lucas Anderson, University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.

Networking with ICCET

Networking between universities, colleges, and community colleges was a great opportunity. The evening provided time for social interaction and good food and fun. A collaborative effort with ICCET for future events is definitely an area that ICCHE leadership will want to continue to consider. Leading the way in continuing education throughout Illinois is a prime responsibility for all of our institutions. Strengthening our collaborations and partnerships assists us with serving the needs of our Illinois constituents effectively and efficiently.
